BackPack Attack – Collection for needy children.
We’re collecting backpacks filled with school supplies:
- For elementary aged children in Ensenada, Mexico
- For homeless elementary aged children in San Diego
Collection will occur at both services on Sunday, August 8. Detailed shopping lists are available Sundays at RVC, or contact Nancy Alvarado – itslikethathuh@hotmail.com (Ensenada), or Carol Ott carolotter@aol.com (San Diego)
Important items to include in a backpack would be:
*pencils
*erasers
*hand pencil sharpeners
*scissors
*glue or glue stick
*notebook
*crayons/colored pencils/markers
*a folder

In a time when religious leaders and a religious system made it increasingly complicated to connect with God, a teacher appeared whose message was profoundly…simple. Jesus arrived on the stage of world events and announced that God’s intent was to connect with, not confuse, mankind. To those who were considered most distant from God, Jesus offered this simple invitation, “Follow me.” People who accepted his offer found themselves captivated by an extraordinary faith leading them to adopt a lifestyle that turned the world upside down.
